Major Los Angeles League of Resident Theatres member theater seeks seasoned public relations and publicity professional. Public Relations Director services the public relations and publicity needs of the entire organization including: show-by-show, special event and fundraising activities; departmental (artistic, development, marketing, education, production and administrative) and institutional needs.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: developing and implementing local and national public relations and publicity strategy and plans; writing, editing and distributing press materials; securing coverage in local and national print, television, radio and online media; managing reviewers and press kit materials (bios, headshots, production photography, b-roll, etc.); overseeing and editing program content for each production; collaborating with key staff to develop brand aligned messaging; developing and maintaining relationships with key arts/theatre influencers across the country, creating content for various online outlets both in-house and external and managing public relations and publicity budget.

A proven track record securing publicity on a national scale and knowledge of public relations and publicity contact bases in New York and Los Angeles markets preferred. Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work as a team member in a collaborative environment, top-level communications, writing and organizational skills. Bachelor’s degree required; LORT theatre experience a plus.
